I actually trolled 4chan today. I don’t know why. It just sort of happened in a bout of sleeplack coupled with the everlong wait that scanning negatives brings.
This has been a somewhat productive couples of weeks for me, musically. I’d had a few…shit, I don’t know…genre identity issues? Not that it’s a bad thing but I want at least a little cohesion.
Ideally the guitar tones and the vocals will make my music easily identifiable but time will only tell. The EP still isn’t finished and still doesn’t have a name, but that’s also a good thing because I’m not playing as many shows as I should be. I’d rather be playing shows with a product to hand out / scalp, and since I’m not booking every available weekend for that Ive got time to finish this recording.
I experimented with a few ways to record acoustic guitars but I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and borrow Vincent’s condensers. I’m looking forward to co-producing stuff with him, as well as stage sharing in the near future.
Two tracks are pretty much 100%, maybe a little tweaking on one. Track 3 is in need of vocals and a final mix. I still haven’t decided if it’s five or six tracks, nor what tracks those would be. Or rather, I haven’t slimmed down the choices. I know what songs I am NOT putting on this, which makes it a little easier. Oh well. A “Fall” release was unreasonable anyway, with me still in Braeburn at the time and not exactly sure what I wanted out of this project.
Here’s to a (NOMHP willing) a January release?
