I, Robot?
Ever since re-launching a MySpace profile for my music and actively seeking out the people I’d like to hear said music I have discovered just how MySpace has changed over the last couple of years.
On the whole, it looks and acts the same, but the fear of spammers and profile hackers has led to the implimentation of the famed CAPCHA, a jarbled image mess of letters and numbers angled in such a way that no computer program should be able to determine what characters are present.
The first CAPCHA’s I ever saw were about three years ago and only had about four characters. This is what I am used to.
When I post comments on MySpace profiles whom have the CAPCHA option turned on I am greeted by a fucking paragraph of sideways text blurred and smeared in such a way that I usually have to click the reload button about seventeen times in order to comprehend it. This is WITH my reading glasses on.
So I guess my question is, if I can’t read a CAPCHA does that make me a robot?
