Albedo Yachts?
I thought that apart from myself and maybe climatologists, no one knew what the word “albedo” means. Saw this on Digg today. Seems interesting, but the name cracked me up.
An EP is an important step for any musician. I call this the Catch 4/4; Do you perform to gain notoriety and THEN make an EP or do you have an EP ready to go so you can produce it upon request at performances?
I’ve done both with previous bands and I’m not sure which is better. In situations where we had to throw down money to get a demo or decent recording I always wanted to wait as long as possible to guarantee we’d have someone to sell it to, thus needing a fanbase.
So my plan so far is this:
The EP (Which I’ve decided for various reasons NOT to call ‘Sonrise’, which was the tentative title until I realized how it could possibly taken as religious and I don’t want anything to do with that) will be no more than six tracks.
I’m not sure about the positions, but so far it will definitely include newer versions of:
1) The Secret Lives of Retail Monkeys
2) Making Circles Square
3) Somedays We Sin
4) Something Under The Bed is Drooling
5) Yesterday I Watched The World End
I’m not sure about track six. “When The Cats Learned To Speak” is coming along nicely, and “Tranquility Base” has been something I’ve wanted to work on for a long time, but I don’t want to rush it.
I think I’ve nailed my genre down to “Electropop sprinkled with shameless guitar rock”. Live I’m an acoustic bit of nonsense.
It’s hard to get shows when all you have is an “electric” demo.
Who knows?
