I’ve made it a point to actually spend more time writing and updating this. My lyrical and literary work has been getting pushed aside as of late.
There are quite a few songs both for my solo project and Braeburn that are in the works and I think the last time I posted lyrics was Making Circles Square, which has been done since July.
Lift has been an interesting experience. A great platform to play new material, rework old material and translate things into an acoustic environment. Put simply, if there was ever a time I could have an easy way to build solo confidence, this would be it.
Mike has asked me to play at a show he is setting up at Evergreen Valley College tomorrow, so I’m going to do a bit of “Shirleycakes greatest hits”.
Don’t hold me to this, but I think the setlist will go something like:
Secret Lives of Retail Monkeys
Something Under the bed is Drooling
Somedays We Sin
Bottlecaps
Elaeven
Making Circles Square
I’ll pull out Circles and Bottlecaps if there are time constraints.
